Short Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu (4 Days / 3 Nights)

For those that are looking to get outdoors and experience some of Peru's magnificent landscapes the Salkantay Trek is a amazing multi-day walk that goes from Cusco to Machu Picchu. It is a great alternative to the traditional Inca Trail and is a good fall back if there are no places left or if you are looking for some scenery not seen on the other route. Recent restrictions placed on the Inca Trail mean that it can be difficult to get a permit, so the Salkantay Trek may be your only option. However, fear not because it has been rated among the best treks in the world and offers more in the way of quiet moments and authenticity than the more famous Inca Trail.

Marvel at the site of the Nevado de Salkantay, the tallest peak of the area at nearly 6300 metres.

Along the journey, hikers will encounter views and environments unique to this part of the world, and at journeys end will be greeted by the site of Machu Picchu, one of the greatest archeological sites on earth.
